Our
Firm, Our Experience, Our Commitment to Excellence
Licensed to
practice in California, Nevada, Montana and Wyoming, McCandless
& Associates, Architects is well-versed in the various zoning
ordinances, codes, standards, and regulations of those states.
We cater to a client base ranging from private individuals to
government entities, and provide comprehensive services designed
to meet a diversity of needs.
Our firm is dedicated to the practice of architecture, and we
recognize that our fundamental responsibility as professionals
is to satisfy our clients' needs. We serve their interests with
clear understanding, open communication, and complete availability,
carefully coordinating every phase of a project to ensure individual
direction and attention from a project team which is spearheaded by the principal architect.
Focused on a team approach, we employ a structured methodology
that places a project leader at the head of each group, supervising
staff members who are skilled in a wide range of disciplines.
Each team is supported during the construction documentation phase
by a state-of-the-art AutoCadd system to enhance efficiency, production and accuracy.
It is because of this sophisticated system that McCandless &
Associates can produce the quality performance of a larger office
while maintaining the personal relationship of a smaller firm.
Since 1980, we have received 15
design awards. Some of our more recent awards received are the 2005 Pacific Coast Builders Conference, Gold Nugget Award for Best Mixed-Use Project for the Chen Building in Davis, California and the Sacramento Business Journal's 2004 Best New Retail Award for the Nugget Market in the Southport Town Center in West Sacramento, California. Other notable awards are the AIA merit award for the Nugget Market, Oak Tree Plaza, in Davis, California and the Governor's Award, conferred by Governor Wilson in 1998, and the Calfornia Preservation Foundation Award in 1997, for the Hotel Woodland in the (historic) adaptive reuse category. This award was one of only 9 equivalent design status awards given for the entire state of California.
